Experience Cambodia – Chapter Guide & Photo Gallery
Cambodia is a beautiful country of contrasts – from the historic Angkor complexes to the bustle of Phnom Penh, where old and new come together. From its peaceful countryside with its stunning landscapes, to the amazing Khmer cuisine, it’s a country we can return to again and again.
After the fall of the Khmer Rouge at the end of 1979, Cambodia began to pick itself up. The youngest nation in the world (by average age), its people have demonstrated amazing resilience and created a thriving economy in the 21st century.
When visiting Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, I was amazed at how much the country had advanced in the decade that had passed since I had first visited. Yet, tradition still persisted in all aspects of life, especially in one area that matters a lot to me – its cuisine.
I think South East Asian food is one of the most delicious cuisines out there (I’m biased, of course), and Cambodian cuisine is that wonderful mix of spicy and fresh that will win anyone over.
But what I really love about Cambodia is the whole experience. Every visit is this great mix of adventure, affordable luxury, culture and cuisine that makes the perfect package.
