Celtic Angel Cocktail
The perfect cocktail for hot summer evenings, the Celtic Angel is a mint and citrus delight. Refreshing, with just a touch of sweetness, it invigorates with Crème de Menthe, and packs a subtle zing with a dash of lemon. It’s a simple drink to make, and a lovely twist to the classic Gin and Tonic.
Crème de Menthe
Tonic/ Soda Water
Fill a cocktail glass with small ice-cubes, preferably not crushed ice, unless it is coarsely crushed and leave it in the fridge for a few minutes. Stir Gin and Crème de Menthe in a separate glass, we tend to go 5:1, or even more, in favour of Gin. Frost the glass up in the fridge, take it out, pour the mixture over the ice, squeeze 1/2 lemon over it, and top up either with mineral water, or light tonic. The mineral water will give it a drier flavour, which we like, but tonic will also work well. Garnish with a generous lemon twist and enjoy.
We do not like giving exact measures, except in particular circumstances, mainly in relation to either cakes or molecular cuisine, in which chemical reactions need to happen in certain ways. In most other cases, please treat our recipes as guides and feel free to adjust everything to your taste – we absolutely detest the idea of “original” or “the true” recipe for anything – cooking is a creative process and ought to be fun, not a blind repetition of listed instructions.
